Love language --
There are two types of language: logical language and love language. There are basic differences between the two.
Logical language is aggressive, argumentative, and violent. If I use logical language I become aggressive upon your mind. I try to convince you, to convert you, to make a puppet of you. My argument is "right" and you are "wrong." Logical language is egocentric: "I am right and you are wrong, so I must prove that I am right and you are wrong." I am not concerned with you, I am concerned with my ego. My ego is always "right."
Love language is totally different. I am not concerned with my ego; I am concerned with you. I am not concerned to prove something, to strengthen my ego. I am concerned to help you. It is a compassion to help you to grow, to help you to transform, to help you to be reborn. Secondly, logic will always be intellectual. Concepts and principles will be significant, arguments will be significant. With love language what is said is not so significant; rather, it is the way it is said. The container, the word, is not important; the content, the message, is more important. It is a heart-to-heart talk, not a mind-to-mind discussion. It is not a debate, it is a communion. - Raj Gadde

the call of GOD!
A person with the tendency to respond will succeed in all walks of life; a person who is not responsive will become disappointed in all affairs of life. Responsiveness comes by interest, also by concentration, also by power of one's mind. ... Responsiveness may be explained as faith, trust, concentration, singlemindedness, a living interest, contemplation, and love. To respond means to give full attention and not divided attention but single attention. Responsiveness is focusing one's whole being to something of interest. When a person, even in his interest in worldly affairs, has so developed his faculty of responsiveness, then it becomes easy for him to respond to the call of the Spirit. The mystery of responsiveness is that the responsive one must forget himself in order to respond; and the same mystery may be called the path to perfection. A person who is not capable of forgetting himself, however good, pious, or spiritual, will always prove imperfect in his life. All misery comes from the consciousness of the self. The one who does not forget is constantly called by his own limited life, which enslaves him constantly. The one who forgets himself receives the call of God.

how to cultivate the heart ?
One may ask: How to cultivate the heart quality? There is only one way: to become selfless at each step one takes forward on this path, for what prevents one from cultivating the loving quality is the thought of self. The more we think of our self the less we think of others, and as we go further the self grows to become worse and worse. In the end the self meets us as a giant which we had always fought; and now at the end of the journey the giant is the stronger. But if from the first step we take on the path of perfection we struggled and fought and conquered this giant which is the self, it could be done only by the increasing power of love.

A song by the mystic Kabir:
I talk to my inner lover and I say, why such rush? We sense that there is some sort of spirit that loves birds and animals and the ants--perhaps the same one who gave a radiance to you in your mother's womb. Is it logical you would be walking around entirely orphaned now? The truth is, you turned away yourself, and decided to go into the dark alone. Now you are tangled up in others and have forgotten what you once knew, and that is why everything you do has some weird failure in it.

Guilt is one of the most destructive emotions in which we can get caught. If we have wronged another, or gone against our own truth, then of course we will feel bad. But to let ourselves be overwhelmed with guilt is to invite a migraine. We end up surrounded by nagging clouds of self-doubt and feelings of worthlessness to the point where we cannot see any of the beauty and joy that life is trying to offer us. We all long to be better people--more loving, more aware, more true to ourselves. But when we punish ourselves for our failures by feeling guilty, we can get locked into a cycle of despair and hopelessness that robs us of all clarity about ourselves and the situations we encounter. You are absolutely okay as you are, and it is absolutely natural to go astray from time to time. Just learn from it, move on, and use the lesson not to make the same mistake again.

The only power for the mystic is the power of love.
Every kind of power lies in this one thing which we call by the simple name: love. Charity, generosity, kindness, affection, endurance, tolerance, and patience--all these words are different aspects of one; they are different names of only one thing: love. Whether it is said, 'God is love,' or whatever name is given to it, all the names are the names of God; and yet every form of love, every name for love, has its own peculiar scope, has a peculiarity of its own. Love as kindness is one thing, love as tolerance is another, love as generosity is another, love as patience another; and yet from beginning to end it is just love.

Single Mindedness --
Many are the paths that lead to success. The difficulty lies in keeping strictly to the chosen path, or in other words in retaining singleness of mind. There is one means only by which man can attain to a realization of the religious ideal of the Godhead, and that is through sincerity and singlemindedness in the conduct of everyday life.

a fable on truth --
There is a well known Eastern legend giving the idea of a soul who had found truth. There was a wall of laughter and of smiles. This wall existed for ages and many tried to climb it, but few succeeded. Those who had climbed upon it saw something beyond, and so interested were they that they smiled, climbed over the wall and never returned. The people of the town began to wonder what magic could there be and what attraction, that whoever climbed the wall never returned. So they called it the wall of mystery. Then they said, 'We must make an enquiry and send someone who can reach the top, but we must tie him with a rope to hold him back.' When the man they had thus sent reached the top of the wall, he smiled and tried to jump over it, but they pulled him back. Still he smiled, and when the people eagerly asked, 'what did you see there?' he did not answer, he only smiled.
This is the condition of the seer. The man who in the shrine of his heart has seen the vision of God, the one who has the realization of truth, can only smile, for words can never really explain what truth means.

gentle wisdom --
Every moment there is a possibility to be total. Whatsoever you are doing, be absorbed in it so utterly that the mind thinks nothing, is just there, is just a presence. And more and more totality will be coming. And the taste of totality will make you more and more capable of being total. And try to see when you are not total. Those are the moments which have to be dropped slowly, slowly. When you are not total, whenever you are in the head--thinking, brooding, calculating, cunning, clever--you are not total. Slowly, slowly slip out of those moments. It is just an old habit. Habits die hard. But they die certainly--if one persists, they die.

Sufi wisdom --
As life unfolds itself to man the first lesson it teaches is humility; the first thing that comes to man's vision is his own limitedness. The vaster God appears to him, the smaller he finds himself. This goes on and on until the moment comes when he loses himself in the vision of God. In terms of the Sufis this is called fana, and it is this process that was taught by Christ under the name of self-denial. Often man interprets this teaching wrongly and considers renunciation as self-denial. He thinks that the teaching is to renounce all that is in the world. But although that is a way and an important step which leads to true self-denial, the self-denial meant is the losing oneself in God.

Truth cannot be spoken --
Truth is that which can never be spoken in words and that which can be spoken in words is not the truth. The ocean is the ocean; the ocean is not a few drops of water that one puts in a bottle. Just so truth cannot be limited by words: truth must be experienced...

Listening is one of the basic secrets of entering into the temple of God. Listening means passivity. Listening means forgetting yourself completely - only then can you listen.
When you listen attentively to somebody, you forget yourself. If you cannot forget yourself, you never listen. If you are too self-conscious about yourself, you simply pretend that you are listening - you don't listen. You may nod your head; you may sometimes say yes and no, but you are not listening.
When you listen, you become just a passage, a passivity, a receptivity, a womb: you become feminine. And to arrive one has to become feminine. You cannot reach God as aggressive invaders, conquerors. You can reach God only...or it will be better to say God can reach you only when you are receptive, a feminine receptivity. When you become yin, a receptivity, the door is open - and you wait. Listening is the art for becoming passive.

"Choose to see the pure Soul within all beings,
even though they may not see it within themselves.
Choose to honour the sovereign reality of all beings,
even though their words or actions may hurt you.
Choose to transform through ecstasy and Grace,
even though drama and trauma may see more natural to you.
Choose to live in this miraculous Now moment,
even though nostalgia, regrets and fear may entice you to not be Present.
Choose to be a blessing to the World and All Life,
even though circumstances may encourage you to harden your heart.
Choose to Love others,
even though it may seem naive.
Choose to love the Universe will all your being,
and know that this is all that is really required.
Choose to Live Heaven."

THOU art the sky and thou art the nest as well.
Oh thou beautiful, there in the nest it is thy love that
encloses the soul with colours and sounds and odours.
There comes the morning with the golden basket in her
right hand bearing the wreath of beauty, silently to crown
the earth. And there comes the evening over the lonely meadows
deserted by herds, through trackless paths, carrying cool
draughts of peace in her golden pitcher from the western
ocean of rest. But there, where spreads the infinite sky for the soul to
take her flight in, reigns the stainless white radiance. There
is no day nor night, nor form nor colour and never, never a word.

wisdom on addiction --
Addiction to the senses is the cause of delusion. So the saints and sages give us prescriptions for how to reduce our addiction and get spiritual salvation. The first prescription is to eat sattwic food. Sattwic means pure. After we eat sattwic food, our mind remains alert but peaceful. These are things like fresh fruit, nuts, curd, etc.
The second prescription is to eat light. When we eat heavily, the mind becomes either dull or restless. When we are always a little hungry, we enjoy our food so much! When we are eating too much, food loses its taste. This is why Bhishma prescribed to the Pandavas "A rich man never enjoys his food. A poor man always enjoys his food."
When we eat too much, or eat heavy foods, the mind gets identified with the senses. When we eat light, sattwic food, the mind can turn within and enjoy spiritual experiences.

"Enquire: 'Who am I?' and you will find the answer. Look at a tree: from one seed arises a huge tree; from it comes numerous seeds, each one of which in its turn grows into a tree. No two fruits are alike. Yet it is one life that throbs in every particle of the tree. So, it is the same Atman everywhere."

For one who has taken his birth, death is certain, and for one who is dead, birth is certain … saysLord Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita, 2.27
What goes up, must come down, is another common phrase that describes this same principle. It is for this reason that Lord Shiva sets fire to this world at the appropriate time, destroying anything and everything.

In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing. ~ Mark Twain

You should take pains but give up worrying about the results completely. I am present, standing behind you and carrying the pot of milk (to give you the fruits). Thus I am always backing you. But if you think that I should exert and you should only drink the milk abundantly, I will not agree with this. On the contrary, you should be alert and perform the actions. Be active and work for it".

Cultivate good habits --
"Dharma (good activities) to perform in the New Year: Chant Aum 21 times a day in the morning. Practice deep and long breaths. Feed birds, animals, ants and humans daily with at least three handfuls of birdseed, grain, sugar or bread respectively. Human beings can express hunger and thirst; other creatures simply die. Therefore, services to livings beings is service to God.
Stop drinking alcohol. Alcohol renders the mind ineffective, and the ills are many including the individual and domestic economy. Mahatma Gandhi always prescribed teetotalism. A main cause for poverty among the lower classes is alcohol.
Stop smoking. The dangers of smoking are well known: Lung cancer, weakening of the heart and thickening of the blood vessels, etc.
Stop meat-eating. Eating flesh induces violent tendencies and animal diseases. The type of protein we need is the one that is Satvic, protects us and not that which destroys us.
Drink milk, eat fruits and nuts. They generate constructive, virtuous and spiritual thoughts."

If you enquire into the teachings of Vedanta, you will realise that God has nothing to do with your sufferings and difficulties. God always helps. Your thoughts are responsible for your happiness and sorrow. It is a great mistake to think that someone else is the cause of your difficulties and sufferings. You should love all and serve all. Love is present not only in human beings, but also in birds and animals. All can experience love including birds, animals and insects. Whomsoever you see, there is God in him in the form of Atma. If you hate someone, it amounts to hating God. Therefore, do not hate anyone. Do not be angry with anyone. If you hate someone, you are, in fact, hating yourself. If you abuse someone, you are abusing yourself."
