Significance of Maha Sankatahara Chathurthi

Sankata means problems and Hara means removing. Therefore, Sankatahara Chathurthi is a day to invoke Lord Ganesha’s blessings to remove all problems in life.
Chathurthi Tithi which comes in Krishna paksha in lunar month Sravana is Maha Sankatahari Chathuthi. It falls 15 days before Ganesh Chaturthi. Lord Ganesha is worshipped as Heramba Ganapathi for Maha Sankatahara Chathurthi. Heramba means ‘Protecor of the weak’. Worshipping this form of Ganesha gives confidence, fearlessness and knowledge to achieve.

Parashakthi Temple is the abode of Prakara Ganapathy, Tantrika Ganapathy, Shakthi Ganapathy and Veera Ganapathy along with 11 aspects of Lord Ganesha on the Rajagopuram.
