A New Year's Resolution is an attempt to positively change a habit. Our habits are generated deep within the subconscious mind. However, most people are trying to change their habits from the level of the conscious/thinking mind. The fundamental problem with this is that the thinking mind is only the surface layer of the psyche. When we attempt a positive change in this manner we never really impact the deeper subconscious in an impactful way. Thus, our good intentions are once again overpowered by our older (and stronger) subconscious habits. To improve your life, you must improve your habits.
