I have been meditating and practicing the "observance" of Tapas ~ Self-Discipline. According to the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali, Tapas literally means "heat" and can also be translated as releasing or severity. It is anything which impacts us to change. "Change makes us spiritual heavyweights in the game of life; it is preparation for our own greatness" says Deborah Adele, and that "it is an invitation to purposefully seek out refining your own strength of character and it asks, can you trust the heat? Can you trust the path of change itself?" This reflects to me the hardening off of new plants sprouting in the spring, and thus has inspired me to share my love and studies of mindful Strength and Restorative Yoga. A perfect blend of practices to prepare the body, mind and soul for the transition of spring to summer fun and gardening - with pain free mobility and movement, and a sense of inner peace.
May each moment be your practice,
