The Day of Boons ...

 Sri Vara Lakshmi Vratam
The Day of Boons

Friday August 9

Sri Vara Lakshmi Vratam day is one of the most auspicious days of the year to receive the blessings and boons from the Goddess of prosperity, Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi.

According to Skanda Puranam, Goddess Parvathi asked Lord Shiva to recommend a vratam (puja) that would be beneficial to women to bring prosperity to their families. Lord Shiva narrated a story to Parvathi about a Brahmin woman named Charumathi and the glory of the vratam.

Vara means boon. Sri Vara Lakshmi Vratam is an important prayer to propitiate the Goddess who is the abode of all mangalam (auspiciousness), prosperity and wealth. Performing  this vratam to Goddess Lakshmi will bring in boons to those who perform with utmost devotion.

Learn how to make the most of this special day by following Amma's video  message and learn how to sponsor the auspicious ceremonies taking place at Amma's Penisula ashram in India.

A Special Vara Lakshmi puja and abhishekam will also be performed on uniquely crafted Maha Lakshmi's Padukas this year and are available for sponsorship to bring Goddess Lakshmi's divine blessings and grace into your home.
